Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra

The Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra is a verse of the Rigveda (7.59.12) dedicated to Shiva. It is also called the Tryambaka Mantra.

Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra

ॐ त्र्यम्बकं यजामहे सुगन्धिं पुष्टिवर्धनम् ।उर्वारुकमिव बन्धनान्मृत्योर्मुक्षीय मामृतात् ॥

Meaning: We worship the three-eyed one, Shiva, fragrant and the nourisher of all. As a ripe cucumber is freed from its vine, may we be freed from the bondage of death, but not from immortality.
